The role

Have you got significant practical experience, managing vulnerability activities which include, identifying, assessing, categorising, prioritising, and remediating vulnerabilities within our digital assets, producing technical assessments and reporting on progress and performance?

If you can answer ‘Yes’ we want you to apply to join our IS Team at the General Medical Council (GMC) as the Vulnerability Lead.  You’ll have a role that offers the chance to work with an excellent team, enhance a huge variety of different systems, assist in keeping the GMC’s assets protected against emerging threats and the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills.

We are the independent regulator for doctors in the UK, it’s our job to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine. This means you’ll be part of an extremely professional IS team that has pride and purpose.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape and improve the systems already in place by working with technologies that maintain pace with emerging business, security and industry requirements.  Working with our partners and products you and your colleagues will continually enhance, support and secure our systems in a busy and focused environment.

This will involve:

Working with colleagues to validate vulnerability alerting, understanding business impact and recommending proactive measures to protect our digital assets.

Providing effective written analysis, assessments and reporting relating to vulnerabilities affecting our environments.

Co-ordinating and leading the vulnerability meetings, workshops and forums.

Conducting regular reviews and fine-tuning of vulnerability management processes, procedures, and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
