Registration Investigation Team Adviser

Registration Investigation Team Adviser

As a Registration Investigation Team Adviser, you will assist with investigating concerns about doctors, physician associates and anaesthesia associates applying for entry on to the Medical Register.

You will also assess qualifications awarded outside of the UK to determine acceptability for applying for entry on to the medical register from doctors, physician associates and anaesthesia associates.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  • Managing a challenging caseload of complex applications for registration and/or a complex caseload of qualification assessments in line with legislation and GMC policy within published service level agreements.
  • Reviewing documentation received and request and collate any further information required to support a safe decision on an application for registration and/or an assessment of an overseas qualification.
  • Producing high quality written correspondence throughout the assessment process.

This is a hybrid working role, and team members usually attend the office on Thursdays. You may be asked to attend the office on additional days when required. For the first week, the successful candidate will need to attend the office for in-person induction and training.

You can find more detail on the tasks you will undertake, and the essential skills required for the role, in the job description.

How to apply for the role

Please provide a CV and covering letter. The covering letter should clearly set out how you meet the essential skills for the role, which are listed in the job description. You should also include a paragraph outlining your reasons for applying for the role.

We recommend no more than 2 sides of A4 for the covering letter, but it can be more if required.

We will assess the information you provide against the skills required for the role and let you know whether you will progress to the next stage of the recruitment process.

If you do not provide all the above, we will not be able to progress your application.
