Marketing Communications Officer (E-newsletters) – 24-month contract, Manchester-based
We have a great opportunity for an experienced and multi-skilled marketing professional to deliver communications for a range of GMC products and services, with a particular focus on e-newsletters.
This varied and fast-paced role will allow you to use your marketing and writing creativity to make a difference to doctors, patients and other stakeholders in healthcare systems across the UK.
We strongly believe that diversity of background and experience contributes to a broader collective perspective. We want to increase the diversity of our staff, so we actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.
About the General Medical Council
We work with doctors, physician associates (PAs), anaesthesia associates (AAs), those they care for and other stakeholders to support good, safe patient care across the UK. We set the standards doctors, PAs, AAs and their educators need to meet, and help them achieve them. If there are concerns these standards may not be met or that public confidence in doctors, PAs, or AAs may be at risk, we can investigate, and take action if needed.
About the role
As a Marketing Communications Officer you’ll work closely with teams to plan, schedule, send and report on strategically important e-newsletters such as GMC news for doctors. You’ll play a key role in making sure the e-newsletters are consistent in tone and that they are delivered to time, to budget, and in formats appropriate for our audiences.
Your love of evidence-based marketing and your creative use of words mean you’re adept at getting to the point with clarity and empathy, and delivering communications that work. You’ll also apply your marketing and email expertise to empower others working on e-newsletters and email campaigns, and drive best practice to achieve priorities.
You champion inclusion and understand how to create engaging and accessible user-centred content that works on different channels and is on brand.
To work in a regulated environment, you’ll also need to bring excellent communication, collaboration, and co-ordination skills.
We’re an experienced and ambitious marketing communications team supporting our diverse customers at a challenging time for healthcare. If you have a successful track record in using audience insight and rigorous evaluation to devise excellently written marketing communications that deliver results, we want to hear from you.
